But thats not really a valid comparisons. While religion has no kind of self check science is always self correcting.

One should always be cautious of course with new technology, especially when it comes to food. But organizations like Greenpeace, Friends of the earth, Sierra club etc will never accept things like GMO, nuclear energy and a host of other technologies that are clean and beneficial to the environment. No matter how much proof you bring to the table they close their eyes, cover their ears and just say no no no no no no. Thats why I never listen to anything they say

They are unfortunately to entrenched in dogma to change their opinions. In many ways the green movement is todays religion, or perhaps even worse, todays communism. I just hope the current green movement will soon be replaced by a more sane, science based and humanistic movement that actually cares about the environment.
