Still keeping it around 5 days a week and on the weekends I am pretty active as well (walking for a few hours or doing some orientering etc).

I go to gym 5 or 6 times a week.
I do workout for at least 1 hour in daily routine.
I think this timing is enough for me to burn the excess of the fat and get better muscles because during this time period I can do all necessary workouts.

For me it's 3 days a week. I'm a hard gainer and anymore days after that, my body wont respond. I do chest and back on Sunday, legs on Monday, and arms an shoulders on Thursday. I've always been blessed with abs and calves and don't have to hit them too often.
