Hi all, back again.

It's been like 2 years since I've posted. Had a fun few years and not in the best of ways LOL.

I had posted back then that I found a new job. I was excited at first but it was a big mess. My training came to a complete halt and my diet went into the gutter. I was commuting to and from work everyday, up to 4 hours a day of sitting in a car, on top of 8+ hours of sitting at a desk. I lost all my gains and my waist ballooned. I didn't realize it until I went to buy new clothes. My waist hit a whopping 40", I was genuinely fat. One of my cats got sick and died, adding to the mental stress and one of the saddest moments of my life... never been through that before.

Things started to look up when I got a promotion at another organization in the same field, so while my health was suffering my career was taking off. Moved into management and was making more money than I ever had before. I cleaned up my diet and lost many pounds by just eating clean and cutting my calorie intake.

So now it's spring 2017, a year into the job, I've cleaned up my diet and leaned out, but I'm still miserable. I'm still spending upwards of 15 hours a week commuting and spending a lot of money just to work. The job that was the highest I've been in my career and making the most money wasn't making me happy. The organization lacked leadership and the job was full of make-work, historical practices that the higher ups were too lazy to get rid of. It was all about the status quo and burying heads in the sand. It was time to make another move and really evaluate what it is that I wanted. I decided it was time to move away from the city and find a job that lets me be me.

Now it's October and I moved 250kms north. I started a new job a few weeks back here in cottage country - still in the same field, slightly less pay, but the work is what I enjoy doing most. It was always a bucket list thing for me to move to cottage country when I got older after I had made my money living in the city, but why wait decades living miserably, when I can make the move now?

I've spent my first few weekends here enjoying the outdoors. I signed up at the local gym and have been working out hard again... holy hell am I sore. My drive is 5 minutes to work. I save so much time and money and I'm reinvesting it all into my health and well being. I'm eating clean again with the intention of bulking up during the winter. Sweet & regular potatoes, brown rice, eggs, fish, fruits, veggies, seeds, cheese, butter, all the good stuff. I've already noticed a change in my body - I have a nice pump going even just after a few weeks in the gym.

For the first time in a long time, I feel at ease. No more bumper to bumper traffic for hours every day. No more big city pollution. No more just trying to keep up with the ever increasing cost of big city living. I'm in a small town where I can drive 15 minutes and be away from it all. I'm close to the water.
