It's best to stick to things you know well, and/or have an interest in. Not necessarily a passion... but an interest would be great, at least, for marketing... as well as for appreciating the value of what you're selling. The latter allows you to utilise your purchasing funds most appropriately. Easy sells include electronics (mobile phones and tablets; which can be bought in bulk or on auction), women's hangbags, popular videogames, popular toys. You can also check to see what users voted as most popular too. That way you have an idea of what other areas you can move in to. |

I started selling on Ebay in 2006 and l decided to go with products that had pet prints on like mugs and t shirts with cats and dogs on and at first l did really well but then things dropped off and that's when l had to diversify. I then started selling little things here and there like blue ray dvds that l picked up cheap in charity shops and l have made a bit of money from that. The problem with selling the popular things like phones, tablets and laptops is that everyone is selling them so you would have to get them extra cheap to make a profit and once people see what your doing they then try to under cut you. What you need to do is try and find a niche product that you can really make money from which is not easy but it can be done, also try to get your products from a supplier which will keep your initial costs down.

Find something that interest you to sell so you're passionate OR anything you can make money on. I find going to bootsales really good as you can find some amazing bargains then come home to sell them for more online!
Make sure you add some nice photos and pick a good one as your main photo and word the item title as best you can so it's clear and obvious so your item is easy to find :) Also before selling have a quick look around on ebay to see what's already out there |
