Can I eat two slices of wholemeal bread daily? I like eating a sandwich from time to time (with iceberg lettuce and tuna). Is it OK to eat bread or not?

It's ok.. all things in moderation.

2 slices of bread won't impede a normal person's goals.. especially if the rest of the diet is adjusted to accommodate 'em.

Nark,

Do you have any solid literature recommendations for strength/conditioning/nutrional/physique principles?

I've just read Comprehensive Performance Nutrition by Justin Harris and am almost finished Poliquin Principles. I've also read a great deal of John Berardi.

Do you have any favourties or recommendations?

Hm.. that's a tough one. I can't honestly say when's the last time i've trolled through a recent release.

Other than the writings of Poliquin and few others, the majority of what i read is composed of studies...

I generally opt for cold hard science than opinions honestly.

I believe that, based on my interpretation and application of such, i can form my own opinion and theories.

..And i have.

w/ regard to training... I've read stuff from the older guys like Franco Columbo, Mike Mentzer and Dave Draper.

Franco Columbo's books were actually the first bodybuilding guides i've ever read!

Guys who've forged killer bodies in the era where drug-use wasn't as extensive.

Additionally I've spoken to, and been trained by, guys from that era.

...Such as Darcy Beckles.

...Sounding my ideas and concepts off of them.

The recent guys aren't as accessible.

Their writings are thought-provoking however... and some very entertaining.

(I realize i'm rambling lol)

Of the newer guys I like the guys who focus more on powerlifting and just being bad-ass strong in general

I'd recommend: Dave tate, Lou Simmons & Doug Daniels.

Hope this helps.

-CNS

Definitely helps, Nark!

I, too, could ramble on about this kind of stuff- very interested in it. It really amazes me how much free information someone like Poliquin puts out- I think this might me the reason why he comes up with some "out-there" theories (poor dental hygience affecting gains, avoidance of oats amongst whites, he's got some other good ones).

I'm a big fan of the "strength specialists" also. I haven't read much on Westside making Simmons a great call!

Thanks bro.
