Default Intermittent fasting help

Ok,

So I've been watching from the side lines for a while now. I'm getting married in April and wanna look good.

Stats
5 ft 10
80 kg
12 % bf ish
Training for 5 yrs

I am lean bulking for another 4 weeks, eating 7 meals a day.

In 4 weeks i will start a recomp programme and I'm thinking of trying intermittent fasting as I've never done any thing like it before.

I know my eating window will be 2 pm to 10 pm , I'm just confused as to the meals etc.

For example say I usually eat 6 meals at 50 c /40p / 8 fat...... Would I eat 3 meals at 100 c /80 p / 16 f ?????

Do I still have post workout shake???

How about non training days ???

Thanks

It's simple really

you can have 3 meals if you like, but no, they will not all be of equal value. 2 of your meals should be roughly 25% of your macros and your post workout meal will be roughly 50% of your macros.

If it falls in your feeding zone, fuck yeah, have a protein shake post workout. if you train before your feeding period, fuck no. wait till your next meal.

Your biggest meal should be your post workout meal or your very first meal.

on training days, eat high(ish) carb, low(ish) fat, moderate protein (although personally, i always eat high as fuck protein constantly)

On non training days you switch it. High fat, low carb, mod protein.

try and get keep your food clean, although to be honest being overly strict just makes you hate yourself, and everyone around you.

Rhino summed it up very well.

If you feel confused I think the best thing is to just follow one of Martin Berhans protocols, IF is his baby after all.http://www.leangains.com/2010/04/leangains-guide.html

It doesn't have to be very complicated though. Simply don't eat anything for say 16 hours or 20 hours or whatever feeding window you choose. Not eating anything means just that, no shakes, no fruits, no snacks, no cream or milk in the coffee, nothing that contains kcal. One exception is BCAA around training.

John Berardi did some experiments with different fasting protocols as well and its worth reading about
http://www.precisionnutrition.com/in...sting/download

There is nothing magic about IF either, eating same amount of kcal within 4-6 hours and in 3 meals doesn't bring much difference compared to eating it in 6 meals over 16 hours. If you like big meals and have no real appetite for breakfast and have trouble controlling portion size then IF will probably suit you. If you get insanely hungry without food and have no problem with portion sizes then 6 meals a day is probably perfect for you. At the end of the day if you get your macros correct it doesn't make a whole lot of difference (Nark might expand on that when it comes to very low levels of bodyfat and performance at that level, I got no experience with it so I don't dare to comment).

thoughts not being able to 'handle' say 1000cals in one sitting? Might some people (say someone 175lbs vs 265lbs), be more at risk for storing those cals as BF d/t the volume of cals all at once? Even though they'll be coming off of fasting & workout.

btw - great links Johan!

Not sure about the increased risk.
