That's the first I've heard that.

I guess its only valid for powerlifters since they dont care at all about chest hypertrophy and only about pushing maximum weight in a safe manner. When I bench and try to do it PL style(working a lot on getting it right) I can I can definitely feel it from feet to neck.

Nark, do you think some of what he said could be why I feel so much front delt when benching though. I have a hard time feeling my chest work as much as my delts on bench. Maybe my form is shit?

i used to have that problem feel my delts more.
so

i pulled my shoulders back on the lift so my rib cage is expanded. and concertrate on the chest pulling and pushing.

overall your delts do get slightly taxed though

don't know if this helps at all. others will give you advice
