This sounds like a demand from Dr. Evil or a third grader.
A lawsuit has been filed against Oprah by Damon Lloyd Goffe. He claims that O stole his book and published it under the pretense it was her work. His demand for damages? Damon wants $1 trillion.
In the legal papers, Goffe says that “in April 2008 Oprah confessed to seizing original works of authorship” and published on the internet the first draft of his work ” A Tome of Poetry” under another title “Pieces of My Soul.”
Why one trillion? The legal documents (seen below) state that she sold over 650 million copies of the book at $20 per copy. If that were true, then the book would be the 3rd post popular book sold in all time. “The Bible” and “The Red Book” (think communism of Mao Tse-Tung) are the first two most distributed books ever. Also, if Oprah had sold 650 million copies of this book it would have outsold: “Jonathan Livingstone Seagull,” “The Exorcist,” “Jaws,” “God’s Little Acre,” “Catch-22,” “To Kill a Mockingbird,” “The Thorn Birds,” “Peyton Place,” “Gone With the Wind,” “Animal Farm,” “The Godfather,” “The Carepetbaggers” and “Catcher in the Rye” COMBINED. (According to the public library. Each of the above titles have sold at least 10 million copies.
Yeah, good luck with that Damon. When I need a break from reality I will have to come visit you in Land of the NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.
