For bb I find it silly. Using momentum?
Maybe as a shocker for 1 week. For cardio /some muscular reisistance it's decent. It's "cross training" bit of cardio, bit of resistance. Decent? Yes. Optimal? No

Well said my Avy-less friend. Cross training (aka the new hype....lets see how long it lasts) is a cross between cardio-strength-endurance-resistance and weight training. It is decent in each aspect but there is an optimal methodlogy for each aspect, i.e
Cardio:
Strength:
Endurance:
Resistance:
Etc:

Yes its one of the better workouts that encompasses all the aforementioned aspects but no is it optimal for each and everyone.

Is it the best method for cardio? No
Is it the best method for endurance? No
Is it the best for resistance training? Nope

Is is the best for all in the above in one, interrelated, cross-over training? Yes, one of the best.

I agree, but the crossfit method(standard "cross training" seems like undefined junk imo. Give a fatty a treadmill and a dumbbell and someone will call it crosstraining) is specifically made to make all round athletes and not "specialists" in anything. I do think however that crossfit is probably superior to what most "bodybuilders" do in the gym. I.e the people that go there and do the same exercises for the same reps and the same sets for years on end. The great advantage with crossfit is the constant change, most people would benefit from implementing some of the methods.

But it sure as hell isn't as superior as the crossfitters claim.

I am very tempted to try crossfit though. Perhaps join a group once or twice a week during the spring. My goals nowdays are not just to be big or strong anyway.

Yup agreed.

If I were to do it, it would be more for cardio purposes then anything else.
