Finally, an instance where Photoshop has been used for good, instead of abusing helpless animals. Paris ad agency Publicis Conseil calls this sinking into the sidewalk graphics trickery “Asphaltization.” The campaign is for Samusocial, a French homeless outreach organization founded in 1998. Headline translation: “The longer you live on the street, the harder it is to get off it.”
In the cold-hearted Apple, where bleeding, dying homeless people are ignored, we of course wish all the smelly, inconvenient street people would actually just melt into the sidewalk (not the doggie, though!). In fact, we wish we could aim our cellphones at them and make them go away. But maybe in socialist Paris this campaign won’t be met with snickers and scoffing? The images are pretty powerfully depressing. Maybe I’ll walk over to Housing Works and vol…nah. |Images: IBIA| ![]() ![]() ![]()
