Default Fall 2014 log

I decided to get serious 3 weeks ago and really straighten up my shit. I am turning 30 on the 30th of October and I would want to be in decent shape by then. Realistically I can't get into awesome shape but at least decent.

I am keeping it super simple. I eat below 2000 kcal per day, I make sure to get over 200 grams of protein and the fat/carb split I don't care so much about. On Saturdays I allow myself to eat 4000 kcal and I will lowe the allowance if it impedes my progress.

I walk for about 2 hours every day Monday - Friday at a normal speed (walking to and from work). I do a hard interval training session every Monday for about 40 minutes and I do weights on Wednesday and Friday.

So far in 3 weeks in I have lost 3 kilos and 3 cm over the waist so it works well. I won't change a thing until it stops working

If my weight loss reduces to less than 0.5 kg a week my first adjustment will be to add half an hour of skip rope on Tuesday and Thursday. If that doesn't do the trick I will reduce my Saturday kcal and then shave off 100 kcal from all weekdays.

Target weight on my birthday is 87kg, 10 weeks to go I have no strength goals because whenever I put up strength goals next to weight loss goals my focus gets split. I am also still having trouble with my lower back, can't really squat more than 130kg before it hurts a bit so I can only hit upper body hard. Lower body is fucked but I do what I can with hip belt squats and lighter deadlifts.

I always find that having an event to work towards, either some kind of physical challenge or a milestone birthday, is the best way to make sure that you're able to stay motivated during training. I wish you the best of luck, and hope you're able to make the changes to your body that you're aiming for.

Only money standing in the way, shouldn't be a problem later on :) What period is the best one to visit?

Training is going like shit right now. On Monday we returned from 10 days in Kazakhstan where I didn't train anything, days where very active and hardly a second where one could just relax. I also managed to catch a stubborn cold, combined with the shit weather (3-6 C, rain and windy) and it did me no good. I am still sic with fever, diarrhea, coughing and recurring stomach pains, I really hope I haven't caught some exotic disease from that country. Apparently typhoid vaccine is recommended before going to Kazakhstan and I had no idea

My weight has dropped like a rock, this morning I was down to 89.8 kg. First time below 90kg in like 8 years. I suspect it will go up a few kg when I can eat like normal again and I really hope I haven't lost to much muscle. Upside is that I gained no weight during the time away I guess.

I doubt I will be able to train anything this week but I will be damned if I can't get back on track next week!

Seems like my back pain has gone away completely though so that is a positive, lets see how it feels when I can try some squats.

Gatdamn.

I'm in the same place. Haven't trained or eaten for a week now. Diarrhea and stomach pains. It's HORRIBLE.
