Default New Study Says Tren Decreases Fat & Increases LBM

I posted this at WCBB but I wanted to see if others would chime in here.

Tren's fat burning effects have long been debated.

And since it's not intended for human use, there's not much medical research on it so I found this very interesting.

Here is the link:https://www.dropbox.com/s/6e55s91cvd..._Rats.pdf?dl=0

What stood out to me was:
1) The research suggests Tren is being considered as an alternative to TRT, in the discussion they talk about the pro's and con's amongst them.
2) The research was tren only, no added Testosterone.
3) The sides where mild
4)Fat mass decreased by 37 6% and lean mass increased by 11 4% with TREN

It makes me wonder if some of the bad sides folks experience are a result of the combination of test and tren?

Here is a abstract for folks who don't want to read the whole thing.

Trenbolone (TREN) is used for anabolic growth-promotion in over 20 million cattle annually and contin-ues to be misused for aesthetic purposes in humans. The current study investigated TREN’s effects onbody composition and cardiometabolic risk factors; and its tissue-selective effects on the cardiovascularsystem, liver and prostate. Male rats (n= 12) were implanted with osmotic infusion pumps deliveringeither cyclodextrin vehicle (CTRL) or 2 mg/kg/day TREN for 6 weeks. Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometryassessment of body composition; organ wet weights and serum lipid profiles; and insulin sensitivity wereassessed. Cardiac ultrasound examinations were performed beforein vivostudies assessed myocardialsusceptibility to ischemia–reperfusion (I/R) injury. Circulating sex hormones and liver enzyme activities;and prostate and liver histology were examined. In 6 weeks, fat mass increased by 34 7% in CTRLs(p< 0.01). Fat mass decreased by 37 6% and lean mass increased by 11 4% with TREN (p< 0.05). Serumtriglycerides, HDL and LDL were reduced by 62%, 57% and 78% (p< 0.05) respectively in TREN rats. His-tological examination of the prostates from TREN-treated rats indicated benign hyperplasia associatedwith an increased prostate mass (149% compared to CTRLs,p< 0.01). No evidence of adverse cardiac orhepatic effects was observed. In conclusion, improvements in body composition, lipid profile and insulinsensitivity (key risk factors for cardiometabolic disease) were achieved with six-week TREN treatmentwithout evidence of adverse cardiovascular or hepatic effects that are commonly associated with tradi-tional anabolic steroid misuse. Sex hormone suppression and benign prostate hyperplasia were con-firmed as adverse effects of the treatment.

I've never had a problem with tren-only, or tren w/ a low dose of test protocols.

Tren is, truly, one of the most amazing ergogenic compounds out there.

Now, with regard to TRT/HRT application... it *may* be too harsh for older guys.

(re: prostate swelling, changes in kidney function, decreased cardiovascular capacity, ventricular hypertrophy etc.)

But... I guess that could be mitigated with the right combination of drugs, diet, and stress/hydration management.

I'm going to test it myself to make sure.

On the study they didn't find any cardiovascular effects, to be honest the lack of side effects kind of surprised because like you said Tren is notorious for being harsh.

And they weighed all the organs and no changes where found.

The drop box link has the full report

The one side effect they did find was prostate changes but they suggested that could easily be controlled.

- 8 weeks isn't really enough time to assess cardiovascular effects.
- 2mg/kg isn't a significant dosage IMHO. For the average guy that's 100-190mg/week for 8 weeks. Definitely not a dosage that would lead to quantifiable changes in heart physiology.

And, also, rodent physiology/metabolism is somewhat different to mammalian physiology.

I am not sure that I find the lack of a decrease in testicular weight to be surprising given that factor.
