Default What was the best gym day in your life?

For me it was the first day I pulled 200kg (450 ibs), during the spring 2004 (sad so say I haven't improved much since then, but that is another topic). I did it after a long period of shit in my life, I was overall in a deep depression and to make things worse I had horrible problems with a pinched sciatic nerve. I was on chronic pain for half a year and could hardly even sleep because of it. Somehow I banged on in the gym though even though half the motions sent fire down my ass and legs. To make things even better I was also on a damn strict diet and dropped about 20kg in 4-5 months time. The stars wheren't exactly aligned for a deadlift PR.

Despite all that shit I deadlifted heavy twice a week with a eye on 200kg and one day in the gym I just knew I had it in me. I loaded the bar up, started at it for a moment and then ripped that mofo from the floor and grinded it up while screaming out of pure joy. Beats any orgasm ever, I don't think any lift has ever come close to making me that happy.

It was kind of a turning point, because after that life just improved. The sciatic pain started to turn for the better and my long depression slowly lifted. I probably took out a year of misery on that bar without knowing it. Standing there with the weight in my hands feeling everything fall into place, it was just a priceless feeling.

Box squat - 500 - 6 or 7 years ago. Doubt I'll ever lift anything that heavy again. Goals are much different for me now

Well I couldn't say my best gym day, but my best workout day.
My best workout day was when I first tried me very first pre-workout I was going crazy hitting everything full of energy, then after I was dead like no other workout.

Wicked!

My best day ever was either the day I box squatted 675 lbs... or the day I deadlifted 545 lbs for 3 reps.

I've never been able to replicate either occurrence.

Frustrating and humbling.

Well I am a little embarrased to post mine since all of you guys are much stronger than me! haha, but the best gym day of my life was when I finally put up 225 in the bench. There's something magical about being able to finally put on two plates!

This might seem silly to say, but I totally get it.

I'm probably the only one here that struggles with the bench press.

225 for a few is a good day for me.

Respect :)

225 surely isn't all that easy for me either. First time 225 was awesome. 3 plates was great as well. If I ever reach 4 plates I will be the happiest fucker in the gym
