I've never done the strapped version of the front squat, because I decided a little while back that I would work on increasing wrist flexibility to make the Oly hand position feasible. Worked up from the hands-free position, to the crossed hands position... to the standard oly position.

Yeah like Corey said, everyone I have spoke to about it has said it just takes time to build up the wrist flexibility to go oly stlye. Definately the best route if you have the patience to build up to it.

TBH guys, most people i see try to actually grip the bar. or grip it too tightly. it's keeping the elbows up that'll keep the bar in place. (hence how no hands works)

most of my fronts are done with 2 or 3 fingers on the bar, even though i'm more than capable of getting my hand under.

P.S if you're not used to fronts, prepare for a serious ab and upper back workout.

I do these from time to time but I don't get much from it. I like to do front squats with the bar behind my heels and go up and down. I feel the movement more and the thigh muscles burn. You have to do what works for your body and what feels more natural.
