Default Body detox

Do any of you guys believe in body detox. Like a colon cleanse etc. Is it a good idea. What are the benefits. What is the best method. Discuss.

That said, I do find it beneficial to give the digestive system a rest... as well as to supplement with herbs, enzymes, fiber, bacteria (or whatever element one may be deficient in at any point in time). Doesn't translate to 'cleanses' in my mind. Translates to holistic living.

Probiotics, fiber, fish oil (and other anti-inflammatory agents), glutamine (and other gut-healing elements, like gelatin/hydrolysed collagen), et. al. should be part of any hard-training athletes supplement stack IMHO.

But, again, that doesn't equate to cleansing in my mind.

Thins like that area good idea. I've heard of people doing colon cleansing and they lost a couple of pounds as well. Body cleanses can be really good for you, but then you need to stay healthy.

I personally am not a fan of a full body detox. I don't see the benefits of it as long as you are eating clean pretty consistently. These detox worry me because I feel I would be cranky if I didn't eat all day. I do like mini detoxes such as putting lemon and mint in my water.

I have to agree with you on this one. I am not a fan of full body detox but I do drink lemon and mint water. I eat healthy for the most part and my body takes care of the rest of it naturally without having to detox.

I 100% agree with you. I feel that a complete detox would mess with my body. As long as I am eating clean and healthy and drinking a little bit of lemon water and sometimes mint I feel like my body is detoxed.
