Default Anyone else looking forward to Fallout 3?

Fallout 2 is imo the greatest pc game ever made and the original isnt far behind. I have been pumped for Fallout 3 since I heard it would be made. Im a bit sceptic though considering whos making it, but from the looks of it so far it looks great! Anyone else a fallout fan? The end of the 90's was the golden age of rpg's, fallout 2, baldurs gate 2, planescape torment. Nothing has even ever come close to those games afterwards. Hell can any game nowdays even pretend to offer 100+ solid hours of story and gameplay?

I'm looking forward to it also. It has that opened ended 3D gaming style like The Elder Scrolls, I think it is going to be fantastic

Il probably upset some fans now But neither oblivion or morrowind had any dialoges at all and the stories where kind of cheesy. I love both games but I consider them more like GTA with level ups rather than rpgs. Im not sure bethesda can handle making the kind of dialoges and story that is a must for fallout 3 to come close to 1 and 2. Im hoping and praying they will prove me wrong though! Bethesda has shown with morrowind and oblivion that they know how to make open ended gameplay and thats one of the things that made fallout great. Now they just have to nail the rest.

I hope they have been looking at Mass Effect for some ideas on how to handle dialoges in modern games. Mass Effect was utterly brilliant, one of the best main stories ever. But it was WAY to short and the side quests where boring shit.

Doesn't offend me. The dialogue did suck, but I dug it anyway. It was my first experience with any pc games, and I enjoyed it. I purposely don't play anything now, because it would just hook me in and I don't have the time for it. I think that's the nature of the games, the good ones, anyway, but I seem extraordinarily prone to over do anything that can take me out of reality

After playing it for a couple hours, all I can say is...

GET YOUR ASS ON THE FIRST PLANE TO SWEDEN. THIS IS THE BEST GAME I HAVE PLAYED IN AGES.

Dude, this game is fucking killer!!!!

Think of it as Elder Scrolls meets Fallout 2. Totally opened ended like Elder Scrolls, with the interactions with NPCs of the Fallout series. Talk with anyone, kill anyone, be a good guy or a total prick, choose all your skills and perks.

The combat is absolutely amazing. All the fighting is done in real time, but you can pause and select your actions, like Baldur's Gate games or any of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games. You can fight like a typical first-person shooter, or you can press RB (on Xbox 360) and select what actions you will choose. Your actions points build up over time, as opposed to Fallout 2 where your action points refill after each turn.

The environment is killer. You can interact with anything, even water in a toilet. It refills your health, but you suffer radiation damage.

The intro is great. You learn the controls at the same time you customize your character and are introduced to the game. I am pretty sure your dad in the game is voiced by Liam Neeson. I will have to check that out.

After playing for about 2 hours or so, I am in love with this game. Go buy it. NOW!!
